EARTH DAY - Global Warming
God created the Earth in six days and saw that it was good. Then he gave it to man. It is our responsibility to be good stewards of what God has given us. This is especially true for Christians. On Sunday, May 6th at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, the stewardship committee will present the movie "The Great Warming". Popcorn and refreshments will be provided. We will have discussion on the movie and the stewardship of God's gift to us after the movie. Come join us and invite a friend, all are welcome.

Equal Exchange - fairly traded coffee, tea and chocolate
In July of 2006 Equal Exchange had its 20th birthday. Started with a vision to transform the relationship between the public and food producers, it took three years to get started and is a thriving model of Fair Trade that has exceeded beyond the founders' original vision. Coffee, tea, and chocolate products from 32 farmer cooperatives in 17 countries, the network includes 400 investors, more than 300 food cooperatives, hundreds of cafes and other stores and has more than a million consumers. Lutheran World Relief became partners 10 years ago, offering fair trade products to over 5000 Lutheran churches, schools, offices and organizations. In 2005 over 150 tons of coffee, tea and chocolate were sold through the LWR coffee project which offers families help in earning a just price for their products and creating long term trading relationships.
Changing peoples lives, yes says Rocio Motato from Ingruma, Colombia. "We deeply appreciate Equal Exchange. Our relationship with them is much more than commercial; it is very human. Equal Exchange has visited us and they understand the producers' reality. They have linked us with other organizations like Lutheran World Relief which has helped us to develop the youth animal project, improving productivity on coffee farms. Our youth raise animals to produce natural fertilizer for crops. This project is very important for us because we are in a zone of conflict. The project motivates youth to stay on farms and not to join one of the armed groups".
We have a say how we spend our $$ and we can help to change lives.
Look for the Equal Exchange displays between services on Sundays or it can be purchased from the office.
