From Our Savior's Voice

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me..."
John 10:27

February 2007

To our beloved members over 65 years old!

Our church family thanks you for all you have done and still do! To show our appreciation we are planning a special dinner for you in fellowship hall on FEBRUARY 11th following the 2nd service. You can enjoy eating and visiting accompanied by dinner music.

Following dinner, we will move upstairs for a presentation of the one act play I'm Herbert performed by Pastor Kathy and Pastor Erik. I'm Herbert is about an older husband and wife sitting on a porch and talking. Just talking—and of course they don't know how funny they are. Each is a little hazy about the details of their lives, but they love each other, and their disagreements end happily.

To reserve your spot please call Bruce at 262-5753 or the church office at 263-7422 before February 5th. If you need a ride please call one of the above numbers. (Please leave a message if you call after business hours; the answering machine is always on.)

Social Action

We currently have 713 families in our congregation. If every family gave a least $ 10.50 toward World Hunger we would come close to attaining our goal of $7,500.00 for the year.

On Feb. 4th drop a dollar or so in the soup pot on Souper Bowl Sunday. Look for families after the services with the soup pot.

On Feb. 21st at 5:30 p.m. we will be having again a potato meal. This is Ash Wed. Please join us for this cross-generational event. There will be a large potato with all the fixin's. There will be a free will offering.

From Feb. 11th to April 29th Watch for our "Pink Pig.". This will be set out in the narthex every Sunday. All the quarters will be brought to the Synod Assembly May 4-6 for the Quilts and Quarters offering toward World Hunger. If you would like to donate a quilt- it can be any size including baby quilts, throws, wall hangings, and table runners. You are encouraged to put your quilt up for bid in your congregation before bringing them to the Assembly, this way the quilt can be displayed with an opening bid. Please enclose two 3x5 cards with the quilts dimensions, content, care/washing instructions, congregation's name, address, and any other pertinent information. Also this year the Synod Assembly will be having a MARKETPLACE which is any handmade item or a service you would like to donate. There will be a silent auction for these items. If you have any questions contact Suzanne or Doris.

Thank you Social Action/Hunger Committee

Global Mission Update

We are pleased with the positive response for our guest mission speaker, Pastor Orin Cummings from Guyana, South America. His passion for mission at home and abroad was the main point of his sermon. His passion can be our passion. Thank you to all who welcomed him at the potluck on Saturday. Pastor Cummings was introduced to a PotLuck! He was impressed!

Thank you. Global Mission Committee
