Choirs and Music

"Sing to the Lord a new song..."
Psalms 98:1

The Music Program at Our Savior's Lutheran Church is designed for those who wish to be the Lord's servants in the area of musical worship.  The Music Program ministers through the musicians to those who assemble for worship.

Our music aspires to excellence, for it acknowledges that, while the Lord accepts any heartfelt worship, he also rightfully demands that we offer Him no less than our best.

Temple Choir - Our Savior's adult choir is open to all post-high school youth and adults. Singing at one of the two services nearly every Sunday during the school year with less frequency during the summer months. The choir also performs a Christmas Cantata service each year and leads the congregation in singing of the liturgy and hymns.  Practices are held Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m.

Bell Choir - The Bell Choir is open to adults and older youth players who have a desire for making beautiful sounds with bells. This choir plays many times during the year, especially at festival times of the church calendar. It also performs in special concert.  Practices are held Sunday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

Hand Chime Choir - The Hand Chime Choir is open to youth players who have a desire for making beautiful sounds with bells. This choir plays several times during the year, especially at festival times of the church calendar. It also performs in special concerts.

Hallelujah Chorus - The Hallelujah Chorus is comprised of 4th, 5th and 6th graders. Along with singing practice, the children also play games and have other fun while learning what it means to be a Christian.

Cherub Choir - Always a favorite when it performs, the Cherub Choir is composed of preschoolers, Kindergartners, 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders.

Instrumentalists - Our Savior's is blessed with many talented youth and adult instrumentalists. These musicians beautify the worship service by accompanying the choirs and congregation and by performing solo music messages. They often play for weekly services, festival services, and concerts.

Musical Plays - Each spring, members of the Hallelujah Chorus and older youth have the opportunity to participate in musical plays presented during worship at Our Savior's and at one or two area churches.  In December, Sunday School students prepare for a Christmas program presented during one of the Sunday Worship Services in mid-December.

O come, let us sing unto the Lord:

let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.

Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving,

and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

For the Lord is a great God,

and a great King above all gods.

In his hand are the deep places of the earth:

the strength of the hills is his also.

The sea is his, and he made it:

and his hands formed the dry land.

O come, let us worship and bow down:

let us kneel before the Lord our maker.

For he is our God:

and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
